NANETS 2017 Neuroendocrine Symposium Allied Health Program

TARGET AUDIENCE

This program has been designed to meet the educational needs of nurses, nurse practitioners and other health professionals from a variety of settings and levels to include the specialties of oncology, endocrinology, surgery, pathology, internal medicine, gastroenterology, nuclear medicine, interventional and diagnostic radiology, pulmonology, research and primary care.

  • Describe the role of palliative care in patients with NETs

  • Review signs and symptoms of post-embolization syndrome
  • Evaluate different research studies involving liver directed therapy
  • Define the clinical features of MEN1
  • Discuss the team based approach required for caring for patients with MEN1

  • List some components of survivorship care including a Cancer Treatment Summary and Survivorship Care Plan
  • Incorporate ways to survivorship care in clinical practice
  • Define what is a SSA
  • Differentiate side effects of SSA vs disease
  • Identify nursing implications when caring for a patient on SSA’s
