The NET Generation
Outreach to the next generation of neuroendocrine tumor (NET) specialists is one of the primary objectives of NANETS. The founders of NANETS created the society with the vision of connecting the pioneers of the field with the next generation of NET physicians and researchers. This commitment remains essential to the organization today.
The grants and awards available through NANETS were established to both support new research initiatives and welcome young and eager scientific minds to the NET community. Currently, NANETS has two awards available: the Basic/Translational Science Investigator (BTSI) and the NANETS Clinical Investigator Scholarship (NCIS). These annual grants support innovative research initiatives and encourage young researchers and scientific clinicians to become NET specialists.
NANETS Basic/Translational Science Investigator (BTSI)
The BTSI is available to individuals who are within the first five years of their faculty appointment and is predominantly focused on lab-based, basic/translational research. Click here for more information.
NANETS Clinical Investigator Scholarship
The NCIS emphasizes both the professional development of the scientific clinician (whose time is primarily dedicated to patient care) and the potential of the project to directly impact NET patients. Click here for more information.
The investigator/mentor relationship is an important component to both awards, and NANETS strongly believes that the establishment of a mentorship plan is imperative to progress as a scientist and build a successful NET career.
Application Deadline for the BTSI and NCIS awards is June 19, 2017.
